❄️ How to Keep Your Hair Healthy All Winter Long

Winter can be so cozy… but it’s definitely not the easiest season on our hair. Between the cold air outside and the dry indoor heat, it’s totally normal to feel more dryness, dullness, and static this time of year.

The good news? A few small changes can make a big difference — especially if you want your gray coverage, gray blending, or overall color to stay rich and shiny through the season.
Here are some simple winter hair tips to help your hair stay soft, healthy, and hydrated all season long:
1. Moisture, Moisture, Moisture
Cold weather pulls moisture out of the hair fast.
Try adding:
• a weekly hydrating mask
• a leave-in conditioner
• a lightweight oil for the ends
Your color will look better and last longer when the hair is hydrated.
2. Space Out the Hot Tools
I know this time of year comes with tons of events, but giving your hair a break between styling days really helps protect the ends — especially for my blondes and gray blending guests. If you need to do daily heat styling definitely invest in a heat protectant.
Pro Tip: Loma's Nourishing Oil is my personal favorite, I use it everyday! Not only is it helping to add some hydration it has heat protection for up to 450 degrees.
3. Protect Your Color
Winter can make color fade quicker. Using a color-safe shampoo and conditioner is an easy way to keep everything looking fresh between appointments. Keywords when shopping for a color safe shampoo and conditioner: Hydrating, Moisturizing, Nourishing, etc.
4. Book a Gloss Refresh
If your hair looks a little dull or brassy mid-winter, a quick gloss can bring back shine and tone without a doing full color appointment.
5. Don’t Skip Your Trims
Dry air = dry ends. Keeping up with trims helps your hair stay healthy and prevents breakage.
