AT HOME CARE

DON'TS

1- Look at all your products at home. Don't use any products containing alcohol, oil, or ethanol. These products can be very drying to the hair and can compromise the adhesive bond.
2- Don't brush hair harshly.
3- Don't go to bed/sleep with wet hair.

4- Don't expose your hair to sunscreen. It may cause discoloring.
5- Don't chemically process your hair at home. I can help with any services, and we can come up with a hair plan and schedule while wearing your extensions.
6- Don't remove your extensions yourself. We will schedule your move-up appointments before you leave.
7- Don't use excessive heat. Heat should not exceed 350 degrees. Temps should be set at 350 degrees or lower (250 degrees for pastel and fashion colors) on all heat tools.

EXTENSION CARE: FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR LAST AND WHAT DOES THE MAINTENANCE LOOK LIKE?

You will need to come in for a "Move Up" appointment about every 8 weeks depending on your hair growth. After the 1st initial install appointment the hair can be reapplied in your hair up to 2 more times for a total of 6 month or wear.

HOW SHOULD I WASH MY HAIR EXTENSIONS?

You can shampoo your extensions just like your normal hair. Just make sure you gently get under every row and make sure to rinse all the product out. You also want to make sure your brush the hair and remove all tangles before getting the hair wet. When conditioning focus on the mid shaft to ends, keep away conditioner away from the tabs.

HOW DO I STYLE MY EXTENSIONS?

Gently brush hair with a boar bristle brush starting from the ends and working your way up. When using heat tools, make sure to protect hair with a thermal protectant. Keep all styling products away from the tabs. Excessive heat can reduce the life of your extensions, so be cations with the use of blow dryers, curling irons and etc. DO NOT isolate heat on the tape tabs.

CAN I EXERCISE WITH EXTENSIONS IN?

Yes, but the hair can tangle up when dirt and sweat build up, so wear your hair back in a low ponytail or braid when you exercise.

CAN I WEAR MY HAIR IN A HIGH PONYTAIL?

With Tape In extensions I recommend that you do low ponytails and braids so you are not flipping the tabs up and down creating unnecessary tension.

CAN I GO SWIMMING WITH HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Yes, you can! I recommend before you go swimming to get the hair wet, apply and leave in a small amount of your conditioner. This protects the hair from chlorine and/or salt water. I also recommend pulling your hair back into a ponytail or braid to prevent the hair from tangling up. Then be sure to wash your hair right after swimming.
